COCKPIT

  • A wide wood bench extends across the back of the cockpit.
  • On each corner of this bench is a wooden cleat for securing the jib sheets.
  • Directly forward of this are winches mounted on metal bases to the desk.
  • A 6 foot section for seating covers the cockpit locker on the port side and the open area for below-deck storage on the starboard side.
  • In the centre is an instrument panel.
  • In front of it is the mizzen mast.
  • The mainsail sheets are looped from cleats on the cabin top and suspended into the cockpit area.

Instrument Panel and Handhold

Positioned in the instrument panel are, from top to bottom:

  • Lowrance Elite-7m chart plotter
  • Autohelm ST30 electronic compass
  • depth sounder
  • Volvo Penta engine controls
Instrument Panel

The curved top of the structure is a useful handhold, especially (but not only) when motoring or sailing in rough conditions.

A Sunbrella cover protects the panel when not in use.

Seating

There are 8 cushions available for flexible seating arrangements, not only in the cockpit (as shown here) but on the front deck, cabin top, elsewhere.

Cockpit Cushions
  • 18 inches square
  • made of closed cell foam
  • covered in Sunbrella cloth for protection from wet conditions.

Cockpit Awning

A cockpit awning of Sunbrella fabric with wood battens arches over the mizzen boom and extends forward around the mizzen mast. Flexible ties clip the cover onto the lifelines. This awning is mainly set up during hot days at anchor but may be useful at other times as well.
