History

Originally built in Ottawa from 1971 to 1974, Moby Boat has cruised both inshore and offshore since then on both sides of North America, a total of over 30,000 nautical miles:

  • on the US east coast from New York and New England to Florida;
  • along the Atlantic coast of Nova Scotia and in the Bras d'Or Lakes of Cape Breton;
  • on the coasts of the Maritimes, on the Ottawa River, in the Gulf of St. Lawrence and up the St. Lawrence River, and across Lakes Ontario and Erie;
  • around the the Salish Sea, north to the Inside Passage, and offshore along the coastal waters of British Columbia.

Living Aboard

Living aboard a boat whether traveling or staying in port for a time means the boat is a home and should be fitted out as such. The two owners spent 2 full years aboard Moby Boat in the 1970's, and their summer vacations since then have been weeks or months at a time.

Inclement weather is a perfect time for reading with a cup of tea at your elbow on the table beside you, music on the CD player, or programs on Sirius.

Reading

Well built, well maintained and with quality gear, Moby Boat is ready for a new owner who shares the passion for the cruising life and the enthusiasm to continue it for another lifetime.
