THE HEAD
The head includes a toilet, a sink, and storage room above them as
well as below the sink.
-
Water for the sink comes from a tank under the front bunk.
-
A small pump fills the sink.
-
The sink drains into the waste tank under the main cabin floor.
-
Behind the counter is a deep gap that provides storage for
items such as laundry.
-
Storage below the sink is useful for towels
 -
Above the sink and the toilet are cupboards that open by
dropping down on hinges when pulled from a clasp at the
top. These cupboards are generally useful for storing toiletries and
cleaning materials.
-
Portholes and a fluorescent light provide lighting to the
head and a vent provides air circulation.
-
There are 2 towel racks on the partition between the head
and the hall with the hanging locker.
 -
The TLZ 0801 Popular Manual Lavac toilet positioned at the
port aft side of the head is simple to use.
-
After use, the seat and lid are closed;
-
The hand pump is then operated for 14-16 strokes;
-
Waste is pumped to the holding tank under the main cabin
flooring;
-
The bowl is automatically sealed, causing a vacuum which
draws in the flushing water.

Behind the toilet are:
-
the valve for opening to allow the delivery of external
water to the toilet;
-
the pump and pipe for delivering waste to the holding tank;
-
the pump and pipe for pumping out the waste tank.
