POWER

Shore Power

Shore power when in port is available within the boat via the outlet installed in the galley just inside the entrance from the cockpit.

Shore Power Box

This outlet feeds power from an exterior connection to a heavy marine electrical cable that leads to power on the dock.

Batteries

There are two batteries; a deep cycle battery that runs the engine, and a 12 volt battery for instruments and fixtures in the boat. A control selector switch allows them to be turned on individually or together depending on where the power requirements are.

Batteries are charged in two ways:

  • by the alternator when the engine is running;
  • by a TrueCharge 10BT amp multistage battery charger connected to shore power when the boat is in port.

Appliances requiring 12 volt power but not connected to the boat’s electrical network (such as cell phones and tablets) can be charged using the PortaWattz 150 TrueCharge 10BT amp multipower inverter installed on the panel under the cockpit.
